Terms of Service
Last updated: August 5th 2026
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the ShipGodot plugin for the Godot Engine and the associated cloud build service (together, the "Service"), operated by:
Michał Myczkowski, operating as ShipGodot
Świętego Mikołaja 8/11/lok. 208, 50-125 Wrocław, Poland
Email: support@shipgodot.com
("we", "us")
By purchasing a license, activating the plugin, or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you are using the Service on behalf of a company or studio, you confirm you are authorized to bind that entity, and "you" refers to that entity.
1. The Service
ShipGodot is a plugin and cloud build platform that lets you export Godot Engine projects for iOS and upload them to TestFlight, including from non-Mac platforms. When you request a build, your zipped project is uploaded to our infrastructure, built and signed in an isolated virtual machine using the Apple Developer credentials you provide, and uploaded to App Store Connect.
The Service is a tool for professional software developers. It is not a consumer entertainment product.
2. Requirements
To use the Service you must:
- hold a valid license key purchased through our merchant of record, Lemon Squeezy;
- hold a valid, active Apple Developer Program membership in your own name or your organization's name;
- have the legal right to build, sign, and distribute the projects you submit;
- comply with Apple's Developer Program License Agreement and all other applicable Apple terms. Interactions between your app and Apple (App Review, TestFlight distribution, certificates) are governed by your agreement with Apple, not by us.
An Apple Developer Program membership is a separate, paid subscription that you obtain directly from Apple. It is not included in your ShipGodot license, and its cost, renewal, and terms are set by Apple.
Maintaining an active Apple Developer Program membership in good standing is your responsibility. If your membership lapses, is suspended, or is otherwise restricted, or if the API key you have provided is revoked or expires, builds and uploads will fail. Such failures are not faults of the Service: they consume build minutes as described in Section 8, and they do not entitle you to a refund of your ShipGodot subscription.
3. License to use the Service
Subject to these Terms and payment of applicable fees, we grant you a non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install the plugin and use the Service for building your own projects (or projects you are authorized to build).
You may not:
- share, resell, or sublicense your license key or seat tokens;
- circumvent activation limits, build-minute accounting, or any technical restriction of the Service;
- reverse engineer the hosted backend service, or attempt to gain unauthorized access to our infrastructure, other customers' data, or the per-customer repositories we manage. This restriction does not apply to any components we publish under an open-source license, which are governed solely by the terms of that license; nor does it limit rights you have in the plugin's GDScript source, which is readable by design, or rights that cannot be excluded under applicable law;
- use the Service to build software that is malicious, unlawful, or infringes third-party rights;
- use build infrastructure for anything other than building Godot projects (e.g. no cryptocurrency mining, no general-purpose compute).
4. Activations and devices
Your license is activated per device. Activating a device issues that device a seat token used to authenticate its requests. You can give each device a name of your choosing, view the list of devices activated under your license, and deactivate any of them — including from a new device using your license key, if an old machine is lost or unusable. Deactivating a device revokes its seat token.
Any limit on the number of devices that may be activated at once is set out in the plan description at the point of purchase. Where a limit applies, deactivating a device frees a slot for reuse.
You are responsible for keeping your license key and seat tokens confidential. Anyone in possession of your license key can view and manage your activations, so treat it as a credential. Licenses are for your own use or that of your studio, and may not be shared beyond it (see Section 3).
5. Apple Developer credentials
To perform builds, you provide us with your Apple Team ID and an App Store Connect API key (Key ID, Issuer ID, and .p8 private key contents).
- You authorize us to store these credentials securely and to use them solely to build, sign, and upload your apps to App Store Connect / TestFlight when you request a build. Details of how they are stored are in our Privacy Policy.
- One Apple Team ID may be associated with only one ShipGodot license.
- You are responsible for the validity and scope of the API keys you provide, and for revoking them in App Store Connect if you stop using the Service or suspect compromise. You can rotate the credentials stored with us at any time by re-activating with a new key.
- You confirm you are authorized to use the Apple Developer account whose credentials you provide.
6. Your content and intellectual property
You retain all rights to the projects, source code, assets, and built applications you submit to the Service. Nothing in these Terms transfers any ownership to us.
You grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to receive, store, and process your uploaded project files solely as necessary to perform the builds you request. We do not open, analyze, or use your projects for any other purpose, and your project files are deleted when the build finishes.
You are solely responsible for your projects, including having all rights to the code and assets they contain.
The plugin, the Service, and our branding remain our property. The Godot Engine is separate open-source software governed by its own license; ShipGodot is not part of, endorsed by, or affiliated with the Godot project, Apple Inc., or GitHub, Inc.
7. Project settings changes
To produce a working iOS build, the plugin may prompt you to adjust certain settings in your Godot project (for example VRAM texture compression, renderer selection, or project version). These changes are made locally in your project only with your confirmation, and you remain responsible for your project configuration.
8. Fees, build minutes, and billing
- All payments are processed by Lemon Squeezy as merchant of record. Your purchase is also subject to Lemon Squeezy's terms and their handling of taxes and invoicing.
- Subscriptions include an allotment of build minutes per billing cycle. Unused subscription minutes expire at the end of the cycle.
- You may purchase top-up minutes, which are charged immediately and roll over between cycles. Top-up minute purchases take effect once payment is confirmed.
- Build minutes are consumed based on the running time of your builds, including builds that fail for reasons within your project (e.g. project errors, invalid credentials, Apple-side rejections). If a build fails due to a fault of the Service itself, contact support and we will re-credit the affected minutes.
- A build may occasionally complete while slightly exceeding your remaining balance; the overage is deducted from your balance, which may go briefly negative and is offset against your next minutes.
- If your subscription lapses, is refunded, or your license is disabled, access to the Service is suspended.
Withdrawal and refunds (EU consumers): if you purchase as a consumer in the EU, you have a 14-day right of withdrawal for digital services, except that by activating your license and using build minutes you request immediate performance and acknowledge that your right of withdrawal is lost to the extent the service has been performed. Refund requests are handled via support@shipgodot.com and Lemon Squeezy.
9. Service availability
We aim to keep the Service reliable, but it depends on third parties we do not control — including Apple (App Store Connect, notarization, TestFlight), GitHub, Cloudflare, and our hosting providers. Therefore:
- the Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis, without uptime guarantees;
- builds may fail, queue, or be delayed;
- we may perform maintenance, and we may modify features of the Service, provided that material reductions in functionality during a paid period entitle you to a pro-rated remedy;
- build artifacts and logs are transient: logs are deleted after 24 hours and project uploads are deleted after each build. The Service is not a backup or storage product — keep your own copies of your projects.
10. Suspension and termination
We may suspend or terminate your access if you materially breach these Terms (including license sharing, abuse of build infrastructure, or non-payment), or if required by law or by a third-party provider essential to the Service. Where practical, we will warn you and give you a chance to remedy the breach first.
You may stop using the Service at any time and may cancel your subscription via Lemon Squeezy. Upon account deletion, we remove your stored credentials, certificates, and data as described in the Privacy Policy.
11. Warranties and liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law:
- we disclaim all implied warranties, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement;
- we are not liable for indirect or consequential damages, lost profits, lost data, or losses arising from failed or delayed builds, Apple rejections, or actions of third-party providers;
- our total aggregate liability arising out of the Service is limited to the amounts you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law, including liability for intentional misconduct or gross negligence, or mandatory consumer rights under EU and Polish law.
12. Indemnity
If you use the Service in breach of these Terms — in particular by submitting projects you had no right to build or by misusing Apple credentials that are not yours — you will indemnify us against third-party claims arising from that breach. This clause does not apply to consumers where prohibited by applicable law.
13. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms. For material changes we will notify active customers by email at least 14 days before the changes take effect. If you do not agree to the updated Terms, you may cancel before they take effect; continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
14. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of Poland. If you are a consumer, this does not deprive you of protections granted by the mandatory laws of your country of residence.
For EU consumers, the European Commission provides an online dispute resolution platform at https://ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr. We prefer to resolve issues directly — please contact support@shipgodot.com first.
